Experience
I graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a Bachelor of Arts in English. My focus was in history and literature. I also received a minor in Museum Studies. I have always been passionate about literature, English, and history. Although I do enjoy teaching and tutoring a variety of subjects. Some specific courses I've taught in the past include Essay Editing, College Essays, ACT Reading, ACT Writing, AP United States History, American History, Religious Studies, Social Studies, AP Comparative Government and Politics, AP U.S. Government, AP Human Geography, IB Global Politics HL, IB History HL, IB World Religions SL, Phonics, British Literature, American Literature, Creative Writing, U.S. Constitutional History, and Latin American History. I've also taught reading and writing classes to students in first grade up to twelfth grade.I currently work in the Detroit area as a substitute teacher. Subbing has taught me a lot about teaching and will definitely help me to be a better educator. My teaching style involves understanding the most fundamental elements of the problem and then slowly adding information back in to build comprehension. History and English are my favorites, and it's a fun challenge for me to teach these subjects in a way that's both fun and engaging.
